Peachy Sweet and Sour Sauce

You will never need to buy a sweet and sour sauce again with this 3-ingredient recipe featuring fresh peaches from Chile.

This sauce is very versatile and will compliment Asian-inspired dishes, as well as poultry, fish, pork, or even grilled cheese sandwiches!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh peaches or nectarines from Chile, finely diced
  • ½ cup (60 mL) rice wine vinegar
  • ½ cup (60 mL) white sugar

Directions

Place all ingredients in small saucepan. Bring up to boil, then simmer uncovered for approximately 7 minutes. The fruit will break down slightly and the sauce will thicken, then develop into a bright red. Remove from heat.

If you like a little of extra texture to your sauce, spoon off a few teaspoons of the peach and set aside. Use an immersion blender to reach desired consistency. Add reserved peach pieces back into the sauce. Serve immediately or store in fridge for up to 3 days.
